4 tips for a successful carnival with the children

Carnival is an experience in itself, if you go out with small children, good preparation is half the battle. To help parents on their way, we therefore have four useful tips for a successful carnival.

Tip 1: Choose your most beautiful dressing costume

Carnival is one of the parties where you can walk on the street dressed without anyone looking at you crazy. For children this is a very nice moment to go completely loose. Let your children choose their favorite costume and help them make masks or accessories. This can be a great way to stimulate their creativity and fantasy.

Tip 2: Visit a parade in another city!

Whether it will be Lampegat, Kielegat or Oeteldonk, that doesn't matter. These Brabant cities all have their own parades and local parades during carnival. The nicest? The children love it. Visiting another city during carnival is a great way to keep children involved in the traditions of carnival and to show them how people in their community celebrate. So what will your next parade be?

Tip 3: Dress hot!

In February it is still ice cold in the Netherlands. Are you going to celebrate your carnival, don't forget to dress warmly. Especially if you go on the road with the little ones to look at a procession, a warm jacket and any gloves should not be missing. Are you planning to stay outside for a long time with the little ones? Then take a thermal lesson with you with hot tea or chocolate milk. That way you can take it again for a few hours. An extra tip: choose a dress -up outfit that you can put on over your jacket and pants.

Tip 4: Durable carnival? That is certainly possible!

No matter how nice all confetti, serpentines and balloons are, it's not really environmentally friendly. Therefore choose sustainable and or reusable party items. Think of reusable flags, straws and cups and get creative with your carnival outfit. You can tinker a nice outfit from an old piece of fabric or crazy accessories in no time.

As what will you be dressed this year?
